So it takes a long time to get a book published. I signed the contract for Conception in January of 2021 and we are just now getting it out. In this time, most of the time was spent with my developmental editor working on the story and trying to improve the characters and the story and of course, just the general editing. This gets confusing and track changes are running rampant and you are accepting or denying edits and rewrites and asking yourself is this even the story that I set out to write? More than once… And at some point, you honestly believe that you have everything covered. That you and your sweet editor in England have read every single line of this story 3 million times and it is what it is, but at least it is correct. Then you sign the paper for the final edit and the promo books come and you find a horrendeous mistake and you want to die. UGH! It is truly horrifying. I know that there are errors in even the poshest of books very the wellest of known authors, because I have seen them, but I am not that and I will never be that and in my puny little attempt to tell my little stories, I wanted them to be free of spelling error or word confusion at the least. Sigh. I cry and I die and I die and cry.
